Gartner’s Innovation Insights: Succession Planning Technology Drives Business Growth

CPOstrategy magazine recognized Tamra Pawloski at Corteva. She is one of the rising stars of procurement and the woman behind the procurement transformation at one of the most innovative and  successful organizations in the agricultural and chemicals sector.  Read this article to get Tamra’s views on a variety of topics that will resonate with you, focusing on people, processes, and change management. As part of the coverage, Tamra highlights TalentGuard as one of only a handful of key, strategic partners to their journey.

“Success in procurement is rooted in people, process, and tools,” she explains. “All too often, companies only invest in the process and the tools, and leave the people out in the cold without the support they need. I always make sure to invest in people,” she says. “We’re investing in technology and adopting new digital tools, implementing new processes, and both supporting and pushing our people to excel and grow……… The digital tool currently being implemented that Pawloski might be the most excited about, however, doesn’t have a whole lot to do with procurement itself. Our new talent development tool is in the pilot stage right now,” she says. The tool, TalentGuard, enables Corteva’s procurement professionals to identify the training they need to progress to the next level of their career, identifying certifications, mentorship opportunities, and professional development goals that can help workers elevate their skillsets. “This investment in talent development complements our efforts to enhance operational processes,” she adds. “It’s also capable of aligning an employee’s career aspirations with available opportunities within the company. For instance, if someone in procurement aims to transition into a role in sales, the system provides a roadmap outlining the necessary steps, such as specific courses or experiences required for the transition.”
